Coronavirus Update
July 2021

As part of the government’s COVID-19 roadmap, on Monday 19 July 2021 the country will move into Step 4 with most legal restrictions to control the spread of the virus lifted.

There will be no restrictions on non-essential retail or indoor and outdoor hospitality which can reopen with any capacity limits lifted.

As COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, it is important to keep safe and use personal judgement to manage your own risk.

After coming into contact with surfaces touched by many others such as handles and handrails, it is particularly important to wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser regularly throughout the day.

In England, the requirement to wear a face covering by law will be lifted on Monday 19 July 2021 however it is still recommended that face coverings are worn in crowded areas such as on public transport.
